So we have decided to adopt Big Carl. No big surprise there! Now the trouble is the actually adoption. When we fostered him, it was through a group called The Brittany Foundation. His tags have his number on them if something were to happen and he were to get loose. When I contact the people I am fostering him for, I am told that he is actually with Strangest Angels and that I have to fill out their adoption paperwork. Not a big deal, both groups were at the adoption event so there may have been some confusion (which ok I admit I am not 100% comfortable with).
The biggest issue for us is his neutering. We mentioned when we were first fostering him that he was still in tact and no one responded. Now that we are trying to adopt him, they keep telling us he is fixed but have been unable to supply us with paperwork documenting so. He clearly still has his testicles so I know he isn't since rescue doesn't have it in their budget to supply the implants or do a more expensive surgery leaving them there. They also would have told me this is the case. Instead they are now pushing me to pay the fee but have yet to supply any medical history so I am holding off. I don't want to loose the little man but I am weary of the rescue group/groups now that I am getting them from. I had researched them when we first got home and didn't come across anything fishy.
I just wish this was all going smoother! On a funny note, the rescue group/groups called him Cat Von Dweezel

Oh, I can see the "cat" resemblance. What a bad situation. I thought there was some kind of rule/law that rescues weren't able to adopt-out intact animals. Just sounds like disorganization; hopefully it will be resolved soon.
Wow. Good luck!
Now you HAVE to rescue him from the rescue group! What a bummer. I'm sure no one put neuticles in that dog - do ya think?
They definitely should have some sort of medical records, at least his most recent vaccinations, to give you some peace of mind. Often, it's all we have to give our adopters, but at least it's something.
I don't know how it works where you live, but there's no law here in CT that says you have to alter an animal before adopting it out. Stupid, but it's not a law - we wish it were! Our shelter requires it, though. Ain't nobody leaving with all their parts. Most ACs give a certificate for very-low-cost spay/neuter; they could at least offer that, but often you have to go to certain facilities you might not normally want to entrust your animal to.
This will work out, I'm sure!
In California a neuter/spay is required to adopt about an animal unless the animal in medically unfit at that time.
Wow. I can't believe they are being to disorganized about this! I would just keep following up and bugging them about it. It seems even more ridiculous since you actually want to adopt him.
Unfortunately, I don't think rescues are always on top of this stuff like they should be. When we got Nemo we were told that he was up to date on all his shots. Of course after we adopted him and actually got his records it was another story. Luckily, the rescue handled it very well, and we were prepared and able to get him up to date anyway, so it turned out fine.
Good luck!
Woof! Woof! Wishing you al the Golden LUCK. Lots of Golden Woofs, Sugar
Holy moly, I'm glad you rescued him from the name Cat Von Dweezel! A life with that name is punishment enough!!
I hope things work out. Seems like that's a pretty crucial piece of paperwork and not some insignificant detail for the rescue group to be on top of. Wow.
poor baby now you definately have to adopt him from those people
besides he fits right in with everyfurry.

Oh, we are happy to read that Big Carl is going to stay with you, but so sad and disappointed to hear that you are faced with challenges with the rescue groups. It shouldn't be that way. (We know we are preaching to the choir.)
Thanks for sticking with him and the lousy situation.
Love
Jake and Fergi xxoo
We hope that you get all this straightened out soon!!

We are so happy to hear Big Carl is gonna be made a permanent member for the family. Congratulations!
We hope the rescue offers to pay for at least part of the tutoring.

Hope this works out for everyone's sake!
That all sounds very odd - we didn't think rescue organizations let animals go until they were neutered. Hope it doesn't get in the way of the adoption because we want to say "Welcome home, Big Carl".
Woos, Phantom and Thunder
I hope that everything works out smoothly so Big Carl can have his big boy surgery.
Love,
Teddy Bear
I hope he's not sporting implants. ;)
So glad BC is going to stay with you. That's a bit odd about his neutering. Could be they overlooked his case. Hope all goes well with the process and everything in order.
Sounds weird about the disorganization. We have had some unusual bumps in adopting all of our rescues, but never a lack of understanding of which rescue has the ownership - much less not knowing where there foster was!
Hang in there!
Wooo! Talk about disorganized. I thought that only happened in our neck of the woods!
Good luck with the adoption process. We hope all ends well.

We hope it all works out and Big Carl stays in your happy home. He looks like he's already a big part of your family.

Big Carl would be a great addition to your happy family! I think sometimes dogs go from rescue to rescue depending on who can take them. When I adopted Daisy thorough one group, I found out later when I was trying to register her microchip it was from a different rescue and they wouldn't change the chip until I had paperwork from them. Well needless to say I never got the paperwork. I suppose worse case you have to pay for the nueter. There are low cost places all over. Hugs to Big Carl and all of you!
