I broke the golden rule

I made the dogs gets out of bed early. It's the only way to get in a walk before they melt for the rest of the day. We live in Los Angeles and we don't have AC. I know, it sounds crazy but when you rent with three dogs (two of which are pit bulls) and you want to live in a certain area you have to make sacrifices. To help keep the pups cool we have made pup pops using the sample food bags we get at different events, handfuls of treats, water and Ziploc bags. Mix everything in the bag and freeze.

This weekend, the hubs and I went on a hike (another early morning adventure) in Pacific Palisades. It is a beautiful area. It's on the coast and not near all the action that is what we have come to expect, but we have been talking about renting a new place that actually has a yard. We started looking and found some reasonably priced places though we are still working out all the logistics. Now that I commute to and from the airport, staying in West Hollywood is not as much of a must even though we both love the area and would hate to leave. We have come to realize its time to do whats best for the entire family, a hard lesson taught by the heat wave.

Lastly, on Friday we will be moving the blog over to wordpress. For the next week I will be signing all my comments with :
Don't forget, we are changing our blog this Friday. Please update your reader to follow dogisgodinreverse.com
we don't want to loose any of you so I hope spreading the word often will help!

Don't worry, we will follow you to the ends of the earth! A shady yard would be nice not just for the pups but for evening cocktails for the humans...after a week away! Happy house hunting (although we love the energy of West Hollyood, too)!

We didn't have ac in our house in San Diego either - typically not needed. Except for now - thankfully we moved and DO have it...and a yard...and patio cover! All a must with pups. A pool would be nice though!!!

It has been toasty warm lately -- we're three miles from the coast and it's still been 85 degrees the last several days!

We will follow of course! I like wordpress much better and made the switch a while ago. yes it has been soooo hot! I live up near Pasadena, and it was upper 90's to 100 this past weekend. YUCK! I couldn't even muster up a walk in the early am with the humidity!

Blog AND house moving. You are BUSY. We didn't have central air until last year--whew! Good luck finding a great place.

Sheps w/Pep and Otis the Potus

ps. DWB stopped updating last year when the people who founded it lost their dog to heart failure and it was too hard for them to work on. They will prolly start accepting new members later this year.

booo - I'm not good with wordpress. Can't seem to follow/connect properly with my friends who are using that. It all has to go through email, which I delete, then forget later (when I'm ready) to visit their sites. ugh.

White Dog's mom here: The Opera, Tales of Hoffman, by Offenbach, was great in that it is not often performed, has an interesting story behind it...but it is long...3-1/2 hrs. Next Sat. the Santa Fe Opera is doing a world premier, The Love Letter...if you get the chance, please make time and go see an Opera this season. SFOpera is especially wonderful because it is open air backed by the mountains. The performance strikes its first musical notes at the last flame of sunset (9pm).
