The worst part of living in a big city

Is that when I get sick there is no easy way to exercise the dogs. If the DH were here he could take care of them but for now its just me. There is one park near us that while not a dog park everyone uses as an off leash area. The downside is there are no lights and now that it is getting dark early we have a limited window to get there. Luckily I ride my bike to work and back so I am normally home with a bit of light to spare but this cold makes it hard to push myself to ride faster.

The closest dog park to us is 1.4 miles each way and has a huge uphill at the end that takes a lot of effort on a good day. Our normal 4-6 miles of walking each day is going to kill me so I may have to bring out the Jeep and drive them to the park. I would so much rather spend the evening cuddled in blankets.

Sorry you girls are not getting to the dog park like you want. Hopefully mom will feel better soon. We are lucky in that mom can just open the door and we run out into the backyard and get some exercise. Cause now that the real cold weather has arrived, our walks are not happening.

Hiya! So sorry we've not been by lately. Big city living is definitely hard with dogs, I'd think. Sounds like a difficult situation for you, but you are doing a great job making sure they get out each day. Kudos to you - it has been cooooolllldd here on the west coast lately - brrrrr.

That is one of the downfalls of city living. When I was alone, I was lucky enough to be sick only once and my neighbor was able to walk Miss M. (we had an arrangement where we'd also walk her Akita). Between E and I we've been ok, but we do have a dogwalker that we could probably call in case of emergency. I'm sure the pooches are also enjoying hanging on the couch. Feel better soon!

That stiiinks. Any where you could use a flirt pole? I know a lot of bully breeds who LOVE them.

Man that is the worst!
It's one thing to have an indoor exercise day due to rain or whatnot, but being sick with a dog is terrible.
At least for me it was. Even if I could find someone to take her out, she'd be so upset that she wasn't with me, that I was "passing her off" to someone else. She was so sensitive that way. She seemed better curled up next to me and my sickness.

I hope you feel better.

I definitely understand. Every now and then my dogs are off to daycare to get them thoroughly exhausted. It's a drag... you can do it! Take care of yourself!
